Market outlook
Rising Outlook 7/10
Interest in Eeveelutions remains consistently strong, and older English cards in clean condition usually benefit from slow appreciation as supply shrinks. The card is not extremely scarce, but it is a recognizable character with broad nostalgia appeal and limited pack-fresh availability.
Next months. Likely to remain stable to slightly rising, with the best-condition copies and graded examples continuing to command the strongest premiums.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, gradual appreciation is likely, especially for graded/graded/graded high grades and visually strong raw copies. Gains should be steady rather than explosive unless broader Jolteon/Eeveelution demand surges.
History
Jolteon is one of the original Eeveelutions from the Pokémon franchise, introduced in Generation I (Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, later Red and Blue internationally). It evolves from Eevee via exposure to a Thunder Stone and is known as the Electric-type evolution, famous for its speed, spiky fur, and lightning-fast attacks. In the Trading Card Game, Jolteon is a perennial fan favorite because it combines strong nostalgia with consistent collector demand across many eras.
This specific card was first released in the English-language Pokémon TCG set Majestic Dawn on May 21, 2008. It was printed as card 23/100 in the Diamond & Pearl era. The card was released in standard booster packs and also exists in a reverse holofoil variant within the same set.
- Majestic Dawn Jolteon #23/100 is a Rare card and a popular Eeveelution collectible from the Diamond & Pearl era.
- The card has both a regular Rare printing and a reverse holofoil version; collectors often distinguish them by the card face/foil pattern rather than just the number.
- Market data shows relatively low supply and modest but persistent demand, with graded copies often outperforming raw copies when condition is strong.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on the back edges and corners, centering issues, holo scratching or reverse-holo foil wear, surface dents/indentations, and any edge chipping from pack handling. Diamond & Pearl-era cards often show print-line wear and slight corner softening, so crisp edges and clean surfaces matter a lot.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or card saver for higher-grade copies. Keep away from humidity, direct sunlight, and friction. For valuable raw copies, use an acid-free binder only if pages are high quality and the card is not being handled frequently.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should show proper Pokémon TCG font consistency, correct set symbol, and accurate card numbering for Majestic Dawn. Watch for off-color printing, incorrect holo pattern placement, poor image sharpness, and thin or glossy counterfeit stock. Reverse holo versions should have the expected foil treatment on the card background rather than the artwork window alone. Compare against verified images from TCGplayer or reputable grading references if in doubt.
