Market outlook
Stable Outlook 4/10
Recent 30-day raw price up 4.5% but historically volatile with low values; Favre nostalgia sustains floor but no catalysts for growth amid abundant supply.
Next months. Stable with minor fluctuations around $5 raw / $75 graded 10
Long term. Stable to declining as supply persists and newer collectors chase scarcer 90s RCs
History
Brett Favre is an NFL quarterback drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2nd round (33rd overall) of the 1991 NFL Draft out of Southern Mississippi. He played briefly for the Falcons before being traded to the Green Bay Packers, where he became one of the most prolific passers in NFL history, holding records for career passing yards and touchdowns at the time of his prime, earning 3 MVP awards, and leading the Packers to a Super Bowl victory in 1997.
1991 Upper Deck Football set, released in late 1991 as the flagship product introducing high-quality card stock and featuring Favre's rookie card marked with 'Star Rookie' designation.
- Iconic rookie card of Favre in Atlanta Falcons uniform sitting on sidelines with headset, one of his earliest mainstream rookies.
- 1991 Upper Deck set revolutionized the hobby with glossy finish and no wax stains.
- Over 5,320 graded submissions indicate high supply but low gem mint population (29% graded 10).

Collector notes
Condition. Check for centering issues common on Upper Deck glossy stock, edge wear from poor cutting, surface scratches on the photo, and print defects on borders; avoid cards with 'Star Rookie' stamp chipping or misalignment.
Storage. Store in semi-rigid top-loaders with sleeves in cool, dry environment away from sunlight to prevent glossy surface yellowing; use card saver II for shipping.
Authenticity. Legitimate cards have crisp 'Star Rookie' foil stamp and Upper Deck holographic logo on back; fakes often have dull printing or incorrect fonts—verify with graded/graded slab or UV light for ink fluorescence; no official reprints exist.
