Market outlook
Rising Outlook 6/10
The 151 set is experiencing a price surge due to imminent format rotation, which removes these cards from legal competitive play. Scarcity expectations post-rotation and nostalgia-driven collector interest are driving demand upward.
Next months. Continued upward pressure likely through May-June 2026 as rotation completes. Expect additional volatility as the market adjusts to post-rotation conditions. Reverse holo and special variants may outperform standard printings.
Long term. Prices may stabilize once rotation effects settle. Standard rare versions likely face downward pressure long-term as supply remains abundant and competitive demand disappears. Special variants (Cosmos Holo) may maintain value better. Compare to Charizard and other chase cards that command premium prices for long-term growth potential.

Collector notes
Condition. Grade cards based on centering, corners, edges, and surface quality. Near Mint (NM) condition is the standard for pricing comparisons. Watch for common wear patterns on holofoil surfaces and edge wear from handling. Cosmos Holo variants may show additional wear patterns specific to special finishes.
Storage. Store in protective sleeves with acid-free backing boards. Use top-loaders or one-touch magnetic holders for protection. Maintain stable temperature and humidity levels between 40-50% relative humidity. Avoid direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry environment away from moisture and heat.
Authenticity. Verify print quality and color saturation against known authentic examples. Check for proper holofoil pattern and texture. Examine card stock thickness and weight. Counterfeit cards often show poor centering, incorrect colors, or substandard holofoil applications. Compare against official TCGPlayer and PriceCharting databases for variant confirmation.
